Serving up great ideas from this galaxy and beyond
I’m obsessed with the science behind food creation and production. Food and nutrition are critical to life and areas where scientific facts often get swamped by emotional and political messages (we all have to eat! It would be great if we all understood what we were eating).
Why a cafe?
It’s a place where you can come to find conversation around cool science, explained in a simple, fun way. So when you go to a real brick and mortar cafe you’ll have something new to talk about!
Why Allie’s Milkyway Cafe?
It’s a Cafe because I like the image of hanging out at a cafe talking about Big Ideas (the “third place” for community, after home and work). It’s Allie’s because it’s mine (Allie Cliffe). And Milkyway is a subtle nod to space and beyond – and some of the coolest science ideas around.
What’s on the menu?
You can find appetizers (200 words or fewer) in Small Bites, and more in-depth long reads in Main Entrees. I’ll be adding some Side Dishes – interesting diversions.
And when you’re done reading and want to reach out to me in person, check out Desserts.
